The Soundscape Poetry Project

The Project

Building on the UK’s rich history of spoken word poetry, The Soundscape Poetry Project will create audio spaces to showcase poems and performances through the complementary use of sound and music.

By pairing poetry with bespoke audio landscapes, we aim to encourage people to interact with spoken word poetry in a surprising and original way.

We are working with poets Rachael Boast, Kirsten Irving, Malaika Kegode and Tim Turnbull and we are launching a brand new competition on 3 April 2020, to discover a New Voice in Poetry – the winner of which will be offered the chance to record two poems as part of the project.

At the end of 2020, we will launch The Soundscape Poetry Project as a limited edition 12” vinyl record, packaged alongside an accompanying illustrated book containing detailed information about the work and the artists involved. The package will also be released digitally and will be made available to stream via iTunes, Spotify and YouTube.
