Tim Turnbull
Tim Turnbull has been a highly respected voice in poetry for over twenty-five years and is an accomplished author and visual artist. Starting in forestry, surviving punk, contributing to prison education, directing stage shows and completing a PhD – Tim’s worldly experience shines through in his deft use of language, often to irreverent and hilarious effect.
Tim is no slouch – his first full collection of poetry Stranded in Sub-Atomica (published by Donut Press in 2005) was shortlisted for Best First Collection in the 2006 Forward Prizes. In the same year, he was awarded a Performance Poetry Fellowship by the Forward Arts Foundation, the first of its kind in Britain.
Tim has published 6 full collections and contributed to multiple pamphlets and anthologies. His latest collection is Avanti!, available from Red Squirrel Press.
Tim has contributed to The Soundscape Poetry Project – out now, available on vinyl, digital and as print book from Culture Recordings and to stream from Spotify, iTunes and YouTube.
